Firstly, do you have the OSX development tools installed? I'm a little surprised it couldn't find Carbon. Besides that, get fink from , and use that to install libpng3, gtk+2-dev, and esound (possibly others, but those are the main ones).

Ok, if you're using a powerpc-based mac, I'm sorry but it's simply not going to work[0] - it's really x86 only at the moment.
On the off chance that configure is just confused, libGL is supplied with OSX, but you may need to fiddle with your library paths for it (have a look at the early mac threads, as others have had the same difficulty). For some reason I never had that problem on 10.4, at least.

[0] Unless someone was to a) write a translator target for the powerpc, and b) fix all the endian-ness issues, anyway.
